Volunteer Opportunities

Find your seat at the table.

Who’s supporting Akron’s first Civic Assembly? People in Akron like you. As a volunteer, you help make this process open, friendly, and easy to join.

You don’t need special skills or housing knowledge. If you care about Akron and want people to feel welcome and heard, there is a role for you.

Here are three options:

#1: Welcome Crew

Making participation easy and accessible

You are the front door of the Assembly. The Welcome Crew greets residents and Assembly members at events across the city, helps people get oriented, and ensures everyone feels supported throughout the process.

You’ll help remove barriers to participation and create a warm environment where every voice feels valued.

#2: Outreach Team

Connecting the Assembly to the community

The Outreach Team members are the ambassadors to the community. You’ll share information, recruit participants, build partnerships with organizations.

You’ll help ensure the Assembly reflects Akron’s full diversity and that residents know how to follow along, participate, and stay engaged.

#3: Community Listeners

Bringing community voices to the table

Community Listeners talk with neighbors, friends, coworkers, and community members to learn about their experiences with housing and their ideas for solutions.

These stories, ideas, and concerns are shared with the Research and Solutions Teams. You help elevate real resident experiences so the Assembly stays grounded and focused on community-based solutions.
